Fly Zone Extreme

We Are Back, We Are Extreme

If you’re a speed freakin’, thrill seeking’ adrenaline junkie, then maybe our Fly Zone Extreme Canopy tour is for you.

No, we’re not going to push you off a precipice strapped into a seat attached to a cable for a momentary eye watering plummet.

On our tour, you’re on your own, traversing our forest canopy from tree, yes, TREE TO TREE, traversing across the valley several times, well above the tree canopy. You may encounter any of the now-resident green vervet monkeys, iguanas and you will definitely hear our numerous birds providing a musical backdrop.

You see, on our tour, you’re IN the trees, REAL tropical trees, very much like the ones scientists utilized while adapting this method of forest discovery in Costa Rica decades ago; a method which has minimal impact on the biodiversity of the tropical forest that you’re immersed in.

Make no mistake, there ARE zip lines. Some are as long as 490 meters (1600 feet), which are sure to give you a thrill, BUT that is not our focus. The real focus is the forest. And, as we all know by now, forests, especially tropical forests, are vital to our survival.

YOU will discover something that cannot be found anywhere else on the island, and WE, will continue to protect and preserve our tropical forest through your participation. That’s called a win/win.

And if you happen to prefer having your feet firmly planted on the ground, we have miles of trails throughout our tropical forest which pass next to our spring fed source, through the ruins of an ancient sugar plantation, and into the windswept heights of Pic Paradis, St. Martin’s highest point, awarding the best views on the entire island.

Afterwards, you may elect to relax by our gorgeous spring fed swimming pool with your favorite beverage, or simply join us for lunch in our open air restaurant. We provide the choices. You make the decision. And as you know, “sometimes, it’s the smallest decisions that can change your life forever.”

Basic Training & Requirements
Our specially trained and highly qualified Fly Zone staff will give a safety briefing and teach you how to put on the harness, latch onto the cable and brake if you want to slow down while zipping on the cable.

Dress for the adventure
We’ll provide you a harness & a glove.
You, on the hand, must wear closed shoes or footwear that is secured to your feet. No sandals or flip-flops.

A few tips:

  • If you have long hair put it in a ponytail or bun.
  • Use a strap to keep your glasses secured.
  • Don’t have any sharp objects, such as keys or pens in your pockets.
  • Keep your camera in a case close to your body, not dangling on a strap.

Your physical condition and state of mind?

This tour requires certain physical exertion and if you’re scared of heights or have any disabilities, this is not for you.

There are no options for participants to quit once the activity has started (other than a medical emergency). If you have no disabilities and no restrictions on your mobility and you comply with the height, weight requirements which are minimum 1.4 meters tall (55 inches) minimum of 55 kg (120 pounds) and maximum 100 kg (220 pounds), you are in the runnings to sign up. There is a couple of caveats though, if you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent to sign for you and go on the course with you.  If you are very light, our experts here will determine if you can complete the course safely. We have a minimum weight as guests need to be at least 55 kg to have enough kinetic energy to carry across the longer zip lines.

No reservation is possible for this activity, basically it’s a first-come, first-serve basis. If you want to make sure there is space for you on the Fly Zone Extreme, just be sure to be here about 20 minutes before any of our departure times.

We have three departures per day, 10 am,  noon and at 2 pm, seven days a week.

The Fly Zone Extreme usually takes about 90 – 120 minutes to complete from start to finish. Duration depends greatly on the size of the group as well as the fitness level of the participants.
